What is Zilingo?
Zilingo is one of the biggest e-commerce stores in the industry that sells fashion apparel, beauty products, and lifestyle goods designed by indie and trendy designers in the Singaporean, Indonesian, Thailand, Malaysian, Hong Kong and Australian market.
As such, it was important for them to have quality product photos to promote their new products.
Consequently, Zilingo had hired the 9th Studio to produce product photos for their products, which was then used for their online channels.
Requirements for the product photo
Before we started photographing the products, our team had a discussion with Zilingo to clearly define and understand their expectations and requirements. From the meeting, there were several points that they requested from us:
- Produce images for online usage
- Keep benchmark and understand Zilingo’s style
- Have reliable and sustainable quality and timeline
- Maintain efficient workflow
- Deliver images with a quick turnaround time
- Create corporate identity (CI) for all the clients’ customers
As an international company, it was critical for them to obtain product photo that could be used in several countries to promote their service. To accomplish this, our Thailand-based photo shooting and retouching company controlled the photography process, which includes location photography and videography, and marketing tactics. We also consulted with Zilingo on the specifications for their clients’ CI.
After the photography session, our team also had a hand in retouching the photos for the final images. Several techniques used for this stage include retouching and color correction.
Takeaway from the project
There were several things our photo shooting and retouching company learned through this project. First, we were able to sharpen our consultants skills. One of the things we did as consultants was giving them suggestions and recommendations of product photo styles that would best meet their requirements. Second, we further honed our skills in working flexibly within a tight deadline, communicating with various regional teams and stakeholders, and understanding how to meet different expectations from people of different nationalities. Last but not least, our photo shooting and retouching company was able to gain more experience in improvising and using creativity to reach our client’s expectations.
